Other important centres within the municipality are Bathmen (about 5,500 inhabitants), Diepenveen (about 4,800 inhabitants) and Schalkhaar (about 6,000 inhabitants). The municipality borders Olst-Wijhe to the northwest, Raalte to the northeast, Rijssen-Holten to the east, Lochem (Gelderland) to the south, and Voorst (Gelderland) to the west.
